A community health worker (CHW), often a trusted face in a neighborhood, plays a vital role in bridging the gap between individuals and the healthcare system. This workshop series is designed to boost both their personal and professional growth and equip them with the tools to better serve their communities and advocate for positive health outcomes. It is also aimed to empower, not just with technical skills, but with the resilience and self-care strategies needed to navigate the demanding yet rewarding work of a CHW.

There will also be a focus on having strong support systems for CHWs, including supervisors, mentors, and colleagues. This can involve sharing stories of how these support systems have helped CHWs overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Because of the unique knowledge and skills that CHWs bring to the table, such as their ability to build trust, navigate complex systems, and address the social determinants of health, this workshop series aims to showcase CHWs as leaders in their communities and as advocates for change while also giving them the personal and professional tools needed to be successful.
